Feminism: It makes sense

Hi, I'm Hope.
I'm 20 and from England. :)
Currently I'm doing an English Literature and Journalism degree.

I'm a feminist and proud, working against patriarchy and towards a more equal future. Or possibly just reblogging other feminists and pointing to their important points.

Why is everything for young women or girls meant to make you “Look Hot”. Can’t I just wear it because it’s cool-looking?! or comfortable? What the fuck happened to comfort or looking bad ass in a cool way?! instead of in a sexy way? I mean seriously. fucking ridiculous. What the fuck is with our culture and their NEED to define what makes a woman feminine and a man masculine? Can’t I go buy a shirt that is not fitted for anorexics and doesn’t have a v neck?! NOPE! Women need to stop buying things that don’t represent women as they are….we have MANY imperfections - everyone does..ALL of which make us beautiful. People need to fucking see that.

sorry guys….kinda went on a rant there. im in a feminist rage right now.

Sometimes I agonise in front of the mirror thinking I don’t look good enough to go out of the house. Then I remind myself that I’m only going down the shops to get groceries so as long as I’m comfortable and warm what does it matter? Then I think about internalised misogyny and how crappy this culture is for making me think I have to look good every second I’m in public otherwise I will be a lesser person and judged by complete strangers. Then I leave the house.

So basically I agree with the above.
